Text Box: There is usually at least one ride scheduled in the Tonawanda area each day. Members are welcome on as many or as few rides as they wish. Nonmembers are welcome on up to two rides before they must pay the annual membership fee.

All rides, except Sundays, have an expected total distance and finish time, but no preplanned route. These rides allow the club to explore and find new or little known places in Northern Erie County and Southern Niagara County at the discretion of the leader or consensus of the group on these rides. Each Sunday ride has both an expected distance and a preplanned route with either a cue sheet supplies as part of your membership, but has no expected finish time.

The club has evening rides on Monday & Wednesday. These rides end at sunset and can be from 10-25 miles in length. The club has morning rides every weekday. These rides can be 1-3 hours and can be 10 to 40 miles in length.

The club has Sunday rides which vary in length from 13 to 70+ miles. These are generally daylong excursions to various points of interest in Western New York and the Niagara Region of Ontario. The club usually tries to stop for lunch at a historical site, park, or point of local interest. All Sunday rides over 25 miles will have a preselected lunch stop.

All of the club's rides vary between 10 and 15 mph, according to the overall condition of the riding group on any particular ride.

Each club ride will have a leader and a follower selected at the start of the ride. The leader will set a comfortable pace based on the condition of the participants and the expected length of the ride, as well as determine the number of rest stops during the ride. The follower will be responsible for keeping the end of the group from getting separated from the main part of the group.

The club highly recommends lightweight, derailleur geared bicycles. Most current members own 21 to 30 speed road, Hybrid, or Mountain bicycles. There are also a growing number of tandem bicycles, as well as recumbent type bicycles in the club. You are also welcome to bring along younger children who cannot keep up with the group on their own as long as they are secured in either an approved bicycle child safety seat or child carrier trailer.

All bikes must be in A1 condition, be road worthy, meet state and local bicycle ordinance requirements, and be ready to pass a nominal safety inspection. The club also requires that your bicycle be equipped with lights that meet the New York State requirements for all evening tours. A spare inner tube (s) to fit each wheel of your bike is also required. A CSPC (Consumer Products Safety Commission) approved bicycle helmet is MANDATORY for all club members and guest on all club rides.
